- 1977-08-15 Of Bloomfield; died Friday afternoon at his home; age 78. A Stoddard County resident most of his life; born August 14, 1898 near Kelsa, Mo., in Scott County; attended Buckhorn Rural School near Bloomfield. On April 8, 1928 he was married to Estel Lura Smith. She survives at the Bloomfield home. Other survivors: one brother, Roy Blocker, Bloomfield; one sister, Eula Scism, Bloomfield; three nephews and two nieces. Member of the Philadelphia Missionary Church; retired farmer. Funeral services were held yesterday at Cooper Chapel in Bloomfield with Elder Cletus Powell, pastor of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial at North Antioch Cemetery, Rt. 2, Bloomfield.
