Obituary, 'Services held for Puxico man': Robert Phillips, Rt. 2, Puxico, died Friday (Aug. 12, 1977, derived from issue dated Tue., Aug. 16) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Poplar Bluff; age 54; born July 26, 1923, at Quilin, Mo.; retired aviation mechanic at McDonnell in St. Louis; member Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 4 in Poplar Bluff; served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean Conflict; member of the Naval Reserves; attended the Assembly of God Church; married Lorene Gulledge October 21, 1949, at Malden; survived by his wife; two sons Robert Phillips Jr. of St. Peters, Mo., and Allan Phillips of Puxico; four daughters Donna Thomas of St. Peters, Mo., Vicki Underwood of Winfield, Mo., Theresa and Florence Phillips of the home; one brother Everett Phillips of Puxico. Funeral services Sunday at White's Chapel with Rev. Gene Leach officiating; burial at Quilin Cemetery.
