- 1977-08-17 Son of the late O.P. Rainey and Zelma Jenkins Rainey; born July 19, 1904 in Dexter; died August 8 at McLaren General Hospital in Flint, Mich., at age 73. Moved from Dexter to Flint in 1941; employed by Bundschuh Landscaping Company for 29 years, then Darin and Armstrong Construction until retirement in 1967. Survived by widow Gladys Rainey of Flint; daughter Howard (Naomi) Chaffin of Clio, Mich.; four sons George and Larry Rainey of Flint, Carl Rainey of Fenton, Mich., and Harold Rainey of Highland, Mich.; eight grandchildren; sister Mrs. Ina Davidson of Naples, Fla.; brother Ray W. Rainey of Dexter. Funeral services held August 11 in the Floral Chapel of Dodds-Dumanois Funeral Home with Dr. William O. Moulton officiating; interment in Crestwood Memorial Gardens in Flint, Mich.
